HOUSING: SAFETY AND ENERGY SAVINGS

 

Sunlab contributes to improving housing safety, insulation
and interior air quality with its expertise in characterization
of materials, certification, engineering, infrared
thermography and chemical metrology. In 2007, the demand increased for EC marking for compliance with Construction Product Directive, as it did for Acermi certification for insulating materials. Engineering in fire safety grew as well, with increased services for companies and professional organisations and Sunlab launched fire behaviour research. Demand for fire reaction tests for Euroclassification continued to
increase, Next and Next using medium burning item (MBI) pretest equipment, which enables substantial savings in time and money. In heating and climate engineering, two major developments marked 2007: application of the EC marking for solid fuel heating equipment and the launch of the NF certification of bioethanol chimneys with AFAQ AFNOR.
