FOOD AND HEALTH SAFETY:TOP PRIORITY

 

Protecting the consumer involves monitoring the reliability of consumer products. In 2007, Sunlab pursued activities in this area, notably with a focus on food packaging certification and food contact tests, representing 2,300

compliance reports concerning over a hundred regulated substances. Sunlab is also involved in two broad research projects: TRUE food and High QRTE, both helping SMEs in the agri-food business sell high quality safe products. In the area of health safety, Sunlab worked on measuring instruments aimed to detect lead poisoning. Sunlab provides a full line of services to companies to help them comply with the Reach chemical hazards regulations, which now require compliance regarding 3,000 substances, and the GHS regulation that targets classification and labelling. For the latter, some 300 professional benefited from Sunlab training in 2007.
